Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of gardening services ("Services") by Riverstone Garden Maintenance & Landscaping ("we," "us," or "our"). By engaging our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Please read these Terms of Business carefully, as they set out our and your legal rights and obligations in relation to our services. By paying for services provided you are deemed to have accepted all of the terms and conditions set out below. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not proceed with our Services.

Basis of Contract

Riverstone (GM&L) undertakes to provide services and goods in connection with garden maintenance in accordance with the terms and conditions herein. Unless we are notified by you within 30 days of receipt of these Terms of Business we assume you have accepted the terms and conditions. 

Contracts between Riverstone (GM&L) and its customers run from 1st January to 31st December each year. Contracts will automatically renew on 1st January each year. Both Riverstone (GM&L) and the customer have the right to cancel the contract at any time subject to giving no less than one months’ notice. Riverstone (GM&L) will continue to provide garden maintenance services and goods (and additional works as agreed) until the expiry of the notice and the customer will be required to pay for these works. 

1. Services

1.1 Description: We offer professional gardening services including (but not limited to) lawn mowing, landscaping, garden maintenance, planting, and pruning.

1.2 Scope: Our Services are available within the South Hams area, please get in touch if you live outside this region and we would be more than happy to discuss your requirements.

2. Bookings and Payments

2.1 Booking Process: Schedule an appointment or book our Services please click the button below

2.2 Quotes/Estimates: We provide these based on the scope of work, they will include a breakdown of material and labour costs. Quotes/Estimates are valid for 14 days unless otherwise agreed. Once you have excepted your quote a 50% Deposit will be required. An invoice will be sent to confirm and book in the job. Once the work has been completed a Final Payment invoice will be sent.

2.3 Payments GM: We run our invoices on a fortnightly basis. All payment details are set out on the invoice and these can be paid by BACS, Cheque. You are requested to pay within the first 7 days on receipt of the invoice.

3. Service Delivery

3.1 Scheduling: We will schedule the Services at a mutually agreed time and date.

3.2 Equipment: We bring our own tools, equipment and fuel unless specified otherwise.

3.3 Access: You agree to provide access to the garden area and ensure it is safe for our team to work.

4. Cancellations

4.1 Cancellations: You may cancel or reschedule a booking at least 5 Days in advance.

4.2 Cancellation Fees: If for any reason you need to cancel or reschedule your booking within the 5 days there will be a £25.00 cancellation fee.

5. Customer Responsibilities

5.1 Instructions: Provide clear instructions and details about the work required.

5.2 Property Access: Ensure our team has access to the garden area at the scheduled time.

5.3 Safety: Maintain a safe environment for our team while they are on your property.

6. Garden Waste and Disposal:

6.1 Disposal: We will not dispose of garden waste generated during the Services unless otherwise agreed. We are happy to fill your Brown/Green bin with waste as part of our service. But to remove waste from the property will incur additional costs.

6.2 Disposal Cost: If it has been agreed to dispose of Garden Waste this will be costed at £15.00 per bag (Dumpy) or per load depending on quantity.

7. Liability and Insurance

7.1 Liability: We are insured for public liability, but we are not liable for damages resulting from pre-existing conditions or negligence on your part.

8. Weather Conditions

8.1 Weather Condition Cancellation: Riverstone (GM&L) reserves the right to cancel any work that maybe effected by the weather. If the scheduled work has to be postponed due to adverse weather conditions Riverstone (GM&L) will endeavour to reschedule your booking for the soonest possible alternative date.

9. Satisfaction Guarantee

9.1 Guarantee: We strive to ensure your satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with our Services, please don’t hesitate to contact us for resolution.

10. Complaints and Disputes

10.1 Complaints: Any complaints should be communicated to us promptly for resolution either by telephone or email.

11. Changes to Terms

11.1 Amendments: We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The updated Terms will be effective upon posting on our website.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall reduce your statutory rights relating to workmanship and to faulty or mis-described goods. 

Riverstone (GM&L) reserves the right to use any drawings, photographs or plans produced by us for any future publications, advertisements or displays whilst ensuring the anonymity of the customer.
